Accessibility policy
Updated October 17, 2026
Our commitment
IFRTraining.ca aims to make its Canadian aviation education website and communications usable by people with disabilities. We seek to identify and remove barriers and to provide assistance that respects dignity, independence and equal access.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a design and improvement target. This is a commitment to ongoing work, not a claim of independent certification or that every page, document or third-party service currently meets every success criterion.
Website features
The site includes descriptive headings, labelled form fields, keyboard-operable navigation, visible keyboard-focus styles, a skip-to-content link, alternative text for meaningful images, layouts that adapt to smaller screens and reduced-motion styling. Optional-cookie acceptance and rejection use equally presented controls and are separate from reader access.
Reader access and assistance
Full educational articles require a free email-verified reader account. Some forms and verification controls require JavaScript and access to email. If these steps create a disability-related barrier, contact us so we can discuss an accessible way to help while protecting personal information and reader-only material. Rejecting optional analytics does not restrict article access.
Alternate formats and communication supports
To request an accessible format of information we provide, or a communication support, email info@ifrtraining.ca with “Accessibility request” in the subject. Tell us which page or material you need and the format or support that would help. You do not need to provide a medical diagnosis.
We will discuss the request with you and work toward a suitable solution in a timely manner. Accessible formats and supports will be provided at no additional charge beyond the ordinary cost of the information or service, where applicable. For planned live courses, please contact us before registering if you need an accommodation so we can discuss the format and available supports.
Reporting a barrier
Email the page URL, a description of the problem and, if useful, the browser, device or assistive technology you were using. Please share only the personal information needed to address the issue. We will review the report, discuss a practical alternative where needed and use the feedback to prioritise improvements.
Documents and third-party services
Complex aviation tables, diagrams, printable materials and third-party websites may present barriers. We cannot control the accessibility of external services, including email providers, social platforms or official reference sites. Please tell us if a linked resource or document prevents you from using our service so we can explore an alternative.
Canadian context and ongoing review
Accessibility duties vary by jurisdiction, activity and organisation size. We consider applicable Canadian human-rights and accessibility requirements, including Ontario requirements where they apply. This policy does not assert that IFRTraining.ca is a federally regulated organisation or has completed a statutory accessibility audit.
We review accessibility as the website and course offering develop. Learn more from Ontario’s website accessibility guidance and the W3C WCAG 2.2 standard. Our privacy policy explains how accessibility enquiries and other personal information are handled.
